Sauteed Kale with Garlic and Lemon Juice

This is a great recipe that’s quick and something that you can have as a side for almost any meal. I don’t really have any specific measurements since it depends on how much you want to make and how big your skillet is. I usually use a 12 inch skillet.

Once you've made this you won't forget it. Great to add to any meal.

Ingredients

  • 1 big bunch of kale
  • Water
  • 2-4 cloves garlic, minced
  • Lemon juice
  • Salt and Pepper

Directions

  1. Add enough water to cover the bottom of skillet. Heat on medium heat. Once water starts steaming add in a few handfuls of kale to fill the skillet. I would use only the leaves, not the stems. Tear the leaves in bug chunks into the skillet.
  2. Steam until kale starts to wilt. Add in the minced garlic. Stir around. If the bottom starts to get dry you can add a little more water if needed. It’s okay if most of the skillet is dry, just don’t burn the kale or garlic. Should take about 5-10 minutes depending on the amount of kale you have. Add fresh lemon juice, salt and pepper, and serve!
